all the way from wisconsin
It was monsoon season here is Las Vegas and the morning of these photos it was coming down on and off, I text Melissa to see if she was still down to trek out to the trails behind Floyd Lamb Park to grab these photos even though we may get there and have to make a last minute impromptu plan. Her step son was only in town from Wisconsin for a few more days before he headed back to spend the school year with his mother and this was really our only chance to get these family photos while he was still this age. We both were hoping to get that desert landscape for the photos with the mountains in the back but knew that if it decided to rain that area was prone to flash floods and we may have to change our plan around to taking photos just at the grassy park area. Lucky for both of us not even a sprinkle of rain came down during the golden hour photoshoot that night.
Jake+Melissa+Zak
Zak has the sweetest soul, and he has no issue letting his soft side shine through. He is really what made this shoot into what it turned out to be. He was genuine and tender even though he is closer to a teenager rather than a young boy. He was himself to the fullest and without intending to really helped even his parents capture those authentic emotive photos.
Melissa and Jake are such a playful couple and really leaned into every prompt that I threw their way which lead for some of the sweetest couple photos. The whole family is so laid back and it really comes through in every single shot from their photoshoot.
